JUST WHO ARE MEN IN BLACK?
COMMON CHARACTERISTICS OF MIB
The classic image of a MIB is a man of indefinite age, medium height and dressed completely in black. He always wears a black hat and often a black turtleneck sweater (though some report the men in bright white shirts) their appearance is usually described as 'strange' or 'odd'. They are said to speak in a dull monotone voice almost like a computer. Common facial characteristics are:- being of dark complexion with high cheekbones, thin lips, pointed chin, and eyes that tend to be of oriental shape. Often when quizzed as to who they are, they offer vague answers professing to be telephone repairmen, or representatives from official or unofficial UFO groups.
It is important to note that there are variations on the MIB in that they are not all said to have an oriental appearance. Some witnesses have noted MIB of men having distinct Aryan features, with noticeable blonde hair.
Their mode of transport appears to differ depending whether you are in the UK or the USA. In the US they are often seen driving Buicks or Lincolns. It would seem that only Hollywood puts them in black Cadillac's! Whilst in England they cruise around in Jaguar motors. However, MIB vehicles on both sides of the Atlantic are always reported as looking as if absolutely brand new. Of those witnesses who are savvy enough to write down the registration of the vehicle - it found the number cannot be traced upon investigation - as it never existed in the first place! Now what are the chances of making up a number and it being the only one in existence?
Whilst all MIB visits do not appear to follow the same pattern, generally the scenario is the same - it starts with a visit or a phone call from bogus officials who mysteriously seem to have intimate knowledge of the witnesses, and use that information to intimidate them.
A CLOSE ENCOUNTER WITH MIB
A sinister case of a MIB visit occurred on Monday 19th January 1997, to a William Shearer and has been thoroughly investigated by a respected UFO group. The group were impressed by his straight forward honest account of his encounter with unwelcome visitors four days after reporting a UFO sighting over Essex.
On the evening in question Shearer returned from work and feeling tired decided to make an early night of it. His wife and daughter had gone out so he had the house to himself. However, he found himself unable to settle and came downstairs to make a drink. It was then that he thought he heard a faint knock at the front door. As he approached the glass door he could make out a faint outline of a tall man.He opened the door to be confronted by a strange sight. The man was about 6ft 4in, and dressed in a black suit and full length overcoat. He wore a brilliant white shirt and a red tie and was holding a black hat. Another similarly dressed man was standing nearer Shearer's wife's car, and appeared to be looking up and down the road, as if keeping watch. "Can I speak with you please?" the man asked. His voice was very deep and Shearer described it as originating more in his chest than his throat. At this point the man was not looking directly at Shearer but keeping his head down - so he could not see his face. Shearer assumed they were a religious group and declined. The man persisted, and again asked to speak with him and beginning to feel irritated Shearer again declined. When the MIB lifted his head to look directly at him -Shearer's first thought was that he was ill -he was deathly pale but in marked contrast his lips were unnaturally red almost as if he was wearing lipstick. Once more the man asked for some of his time but Shearer held his ground and asked them to come back another time. His unexpected visitor after looking back to the second man finally gave up and said he would be back later. On reflection Shearer thought the two men seemed to be speaking telepathically, as the second man kept looking at the first and nodding or gesturing in some way. The men walked to their black car and according to Shearer it was "like something out of a gangster movie, yet it looked shiny and brand new."
He also noticed that the men walked strangely as if they were suffering from arthritis. With a sigh of relief he slammed his front door hoping his negative attitude had put them off and they wouldn't return.
However Shearer was to have yet another encounter with these mysterious figures a month later in his workplace. As usual it started with a knock but this time on his office door.He opened the door and immediately recognized one of the two men standing there as being the MIB who had stood near his wife's car that January evening. This time they addressed him by name and specified they wanted to speak to him about his UFO sighting, giving exact dates and times. Shearer baffled as to where they had got this information refused to let them in and asked for their ID but they ignored him and repeatedly asked to come in. He felt the man appeared to be pre-programmed and seemed only able to ask the same questions over and over again. This time he got a closer look at the man's face and was astonished to see he had no facial hair at all - no eyebrows, lashes or signs of stubble. At that moment his office phone rang. He turned to pick up the phone and put it on hold and when he turned back they were gone!
Shearer reported that following the MIB visits he had endless trouble with phone lines,and electrical equipment both at his home and office. He often heard clicking on the line and although it was investigated by his phone company, they could find no explanation.
Although Shearer has had it made clear to him several times by the UFO investigation group that he has probably had a visitation by beings from another dimension -he remains sceptical preferring to consider the MIB- nothing more than persistent religious cranks. Though he can come up with no logical explanation as to how they knew so much personal information about him. What do you think?
